3.3 Analytics
We use Umami Analytics — a self-hosted, privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies or collect personal data. Umami does not set any cookies and does not track individuals across websites or sessions. It collects only anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (page views, referrer sources, device types) and does not require cookie consent under DPDP Act 2023.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any tracking cookies that build cross-site profiles or identify individual users.
3.4 Cookies We Do Not Use
We explicitly do not use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Third-party tracking or retargeting cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Twitter Pixel, etc.)
- Cross-site profiling cookies
- Fingerprinting technologies
- Third-party cookies from advertising networks
4. Third-Party Cookies
Our website does not embed third-party content (such as social media widgets or ad networks) that set their own cookies. If you visit a linked third-party website, that website's own cookie policy applies and we have no control over it.
OAuth integrations (connecting GitHub, LinkedIn, or other platforms to Verikred) redirect you to the respective platform's authentication page. Those platforms may set their own cookies during the authentication process. We receive only the authorisation token, not any advertising cookies.
5. Legal Basis for Cookie Use
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India):
- Strictly necessary cookies: Processed under legitimate interest / technical necessity — no consent required as these are essential for the service you have requested
- Functional cookies: Processed with your implied consent through continued use, with clear disclosure in this policy
- Analytics (Umami): No personal data is processed; consent is not required

7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Since we do not engage in cross-site tracking and do not use advertising cookies, enabling DNT has no material effect on our cookie usage, but we respect the intent of DNT signals by not building user profiles.
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will post the updated policy with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified via a prominent notice on our website.
